Båtsfjord Sea Ducks
Batsfjord, Norway was the first part of my trip to Norway in March of 2023 with Finnature tours. The plan for this location was to photograph sea ducks like King, Common, and Steller’s Eider plus Long-tailed Ducks from a floating blind. We had two great days of shooting conditions with a nice calm sunny day and a more unsettled windy day with some nice flurries. The birds were plentiful and close in to the hide allowing for great shooting. This was my first time seeing Kind Eider up close and Steller’s Sea Eiders ever. I took way too many shots and had to offload some of my shots after the first day so I had space to shoot on day 2. I learned my lesson and slowed my camera down a bit.
